OUR MISSION...

Music Therapy Network was founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, California by Chikako Horii.

She enjoyed a successful musical career in Japan as the lead singer in an all-girls rock band, TWIGGY, which released five albums under a major label, which is currently the Universal Music Group.

Horii continued performing as a musician in the band, Radical Blood Orange, after she moved to the U.S.

Fueled by her passion for music, and guided by her vision, she also earned degree in Music Therapy, and board certificate in 2005 addition to her original degree in Communications.

As a music therapist, she believed music had the power to make a difference, and was motivated to create awareness in her community about the benefits of music therapy.

Through collaboration with professionals in the music industry, she created Music Therapy Network, a global network of people in the fields of music therapy, music education and entertainment to share their experiences and expertise.
